ODESSA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (oiff.com.ua) is one of the major film events in the CEE region which has it all for the recipe of success: wonderful and eager audience, great location in the beautiful city of Odessa on the Black Sea shore, and great background in the film history. In 2016, there will be held 7th edition of the festival. CONCEPT OIFF is an audience festival which program focused on art mainstream films. The Grand Prix is awarded by the audience vote. The Jury chooses winners in the following nominations: Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor/Actress in the International Competition Program, and Best Ukrainian Film, Best Actor/Actress and Best Short for the National Competition Program. AUDIENCE The audience numbers are constantly growing: 2010 – 40,000 2011 – 70,000 2012 – 100,000 2013 – 115,000 2014 – 105,000 2015 – 120,000 MEDIA COVERAGE The festival is winning its place in the local and international media event calendar*: 2010 – 350 journalists 2011 – 450 2012 – 700 2013 – 894 2014 – 900 2015 - 920 *In 2011, OIFF was acknowledged by HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) OIFF HIGHLIGHTS - Open-air screenings, including the biggest one at historical Potemkin Square for 15,000 viewers - Summer Film School - Film Industry Office an Film Market - OIFF opening at the Odessa Opera House (listed among the most beautiful sights of Eastern Europe according to Forbes magazine) - The New European documentary competition - non-competitive sections (“Gala Premieres”, “Festival of Festivals”, “Retrospectives”, “OIFF for Kids: with Children Kinofest”) OIFF GUESTS During its relatively short history, OIFF was honored by visits of John Malkovich, Cyllian Murphy, Michael Winterbottom, Rutger Hauer, Claudia Cardinale, Geraldine Chaplin, Jos Stelling, Peter Greenaway, Jerzy Stuhr, Roger Corman, Jim Sheridan, Darren Aronofsky and many other outstanding guests.
