The University of Southampton (UoS: southampton.ac.uk) and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD: knutd.edu.ua/) started a collaborative project within Creative Spark programme to promote institutional development, boost business activity in design and fashion related sectors at KNUTD and to improve the general level of English proficiency among students of KNUTD. This collaboration project between KNUTD and UoS will allow: 1. Sharing experience and ideas on fashion and design related enterprise via a series of master-classes and seminars held both at KNUTD and UoS. 2. Sharing of the key values and best practices in research, commercialisation, enterprise as well as manufacturing and design between one of the top UK universities and KNUTD. 3. Create an opportunity for KNUTD’s students and stuff to observe and participate in several business case studies in the UK focused on the development and commercialisation of competitive products in fashion industry comprising avant-garde design and novel additive-manufacturing technologies. 4. Boost the level of English among KNUTD’s students via English summer school which will be established as part of the programme and will extensively use British Council online English language tools and promote British Council centres in Ukraine. 5. Provide students of KNUTD with entrepreneurial training via a series of open lectures facilitated by KNUTD staff and jointly led by the partners which will prepare them for Student Enterprise Award competition held by British Council. 6. The most promising ideas/product designs will be further promoted by Creative Platform to seek possible investment/support for students among investors. Creative Platform by KNUTD will also promote the project and public profiles of UoS and KNUTD as well as attract attention to BC services and mission in Ukraine.
